Duetto di Concerto sulla Sonnambula di Bassi, Op. 201, PP.136.4

The Duetto di Concerto sulla Sonnambula must be considered one of the gems of the virtuoso repertoire from Cremona. Its appearance in the repertoire of the band in Cremona coincides with one of Ponchielli's most active periods of activity. Never one to take a chance to tighten up another's work, Ponchielli removed several measures of Bassi's opening and thus creates a more satisfying result.

The piano part is particularly sparse throughout, and Ponchielli does add a number of "new" material, perhaps with some knowledge of a Milanese version for band.

The solo parts may be found here.
